Sleepy buddy

Brontes made one sad and lonely lady very happy today. It is always a tragedy, when a mother lives longer than her own child. This lady was not only very ill herself, but lost her son as well in the same time….Where did you come from, you handsome boy? That was what we heard from her when we entered the room. Brontes did not hesitate and went directly to the bed, where this welcoming voice was coming from. The lady instantly open her arms and gave him a big hug. Than she told me her uneasy life story, still firmly hugging Brontes and her tears were shining on his black fur. He seemed to listen, feeling her pain, laying next to her, not wanting to leave her. Their sympathies were so unique and touching. It has never happened before that I would leave from the room and Brontes would remain there by himself alone without me. He always comes out with me when I am leaving the room. But not this time. He stayed with her on the bed. I left the door little bit open and left to make the report to the guest book. When I checked him after 10 minutes, my buddy was still there. The lady was sleeping peacefully, the tears were gone and it seemed there appeared even a smile on her face which now seemed so relaxed. The nurses offered me a cup of coffee and than we were just sitting there in silence with our thoughts. Suddenly the door opened, there was Brontes in it, wawing his tail, jaws wide open. As he would be saying: Hurry up, my job is done here, the lady is sleeping so lets go home! So I had a look to the room. The lady was still sleeping soundly and her neighbor whispered that it was her time she would fall asleep without sleeping pills…..we closed the door very carefully when we vere leaving. I gave a hug to Brontes and murmured to his still wet black fur: You are my best doggie...
